Frequently Asked Questions

What is CIF?

CIF stands for Cost, Insurance, and Freight. It's the total value of your goods, including the cost of the product, the cost of shipping (freight), and the cost of insurance. This total value is used by Customs to calculate duties and taxes.

What taxes are included in this estimate?

This calculator provides an estimate for the main duties and taxes, including Customs Duty (CD), Regulatory Duty (RD), Sales Tax (ST), and Advance Income Tax (AIT). Note that fixed and default rates from the plugin settings may be applied if the HS code data is missing or incomplete.

What is Filer vs. Non-Filer?

A 'Filer' is a person or company that is on the Active Taxpayer List (ATL) of the FBR. A 'Non-Filer' is not on this list. Non-Filers typically pay a higher rate of Advance Income Tax (AIT) at the import stage.
